DISPOSABLE GLOVES

Natural Rubber Latex Gloves

Advantages: Low Cost. Excellent tensile strength, elongation, cold resistance, and flexibility. Good abrasion resistance, tear resistance, puncture resistance, aging/shelf life, and dry grip.
Disadvantages: Poor flame resistance, animal fat resistance, and solvent resistance, Not cut resistant. Product may be allergenic.
Applications: Food processing, cleaning and janitorial.

Nitrile Gloves

Advantages: Low Cost. Excellent tensile strength, abrasion resistance, puncture resistance, aging/shelf life, heat resistance, cold resistance, flexibility, animal fat resistance, and solvent resistance. Good dry grip, wet grip, and solvent resistance. Product is non-allergenic.
Disadvantages: Poor flame resistance.
Applications: Food processing, cleaning and janitorial.

PVC Vinyl Gloves

Advantages: Low Cost. Ideal for short-term use. Good Abrasion, flexibility, dry grip, animal fat resistance, Fair tensile strength, elongation, aging/shelf life, cold resistance, wet grip and solvent resistence.
Disadvantages: Poor tear resistance, puncture resistance, flame resistance, and heat resistance.
Applications: Food preparation and catering.

Neoprene Gloves

Advantages: Ideal for short-term use. An alternative to latex. Excellent tensile strength, elongation, aging/shelf life, heat resistance, and flexibility, Good Abrasion resistance, tear resistance, puncture resistance, flame resistance, cold resistance, dry grip, wet grip, and animal fat resistance. Fair solvent resistance.
Disadvantages: Higher cost.
Applications: Food preparation, catering, chemical processing, medical, military, and research laboratories.

HOW TO DETERMINE OPTIONS:

Cuff and Gauntlet

Pinked: Zigsag finished appearance found in supported gloves.
Rolled: Strengthens the cuff and provides a barrier for liquids rolling up the wrist-hand area.
Straight: Most common and economical. Provides loose fitting comfort and ventilation to wrist.

Thickness and Dexterity

Higher mil thickness allows for more protection but less dexterity.
Lower mil thickness allows for more dexterity but less protection.

*Glove thickness is usually measured in Mils (1 mil = 0.001 gauge)

Lining Requirements

Flock Lined: Shredded fiber applied to the inside of the gloves to absorb perspiration.
Knit Lined: Cotton or knit bonded inside the gloves to absorb perspiration.
Powdered: Cornstarch is added to the inside of the gloves to allow easy on and off.
Powder Free: No powder is added to the inside of the gloves.

Glove Glossary

Ambidextrous: Glove can be used on either hand with equal dexterity.
Hand Specific: Glove is specific for either right or left hand.
